The Church of El Salvador, as it was conceived by the architects Esteban García and José Granados, is a temple full of light, as a luminous metaphor for the Divine: light is Life and Salvation.

The symbolism of light in the Christian world is, therefore, especially evident in the Church of El Salvador; “Light illuminates nature so that man can contemplate and orient himself, it illuminates the paths of life so that they can be traveled, it is the essential clarity so that man can orient himself.”
